Kilobyte ยท App privacy policy
Kilobyte privacy policy
Effective 10 October 2026
Kilobyte is a camera app. It doesn't collect, store or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and the app contains no third-party code that would do any of those things.
Your photos, videos and sound
Everything you shoot or import is processed on your iPhone and kept in the app's own storage on your iPhone. None of it is uploaded anywhere. Deleting the app deletes its Roll.
- Camera: used to show the viewfinder and take photos, booth strips, GIFs and clips.
- Microphone: used only while CLIP mode is selected, to record sound with your video clips.
- Photos (add only): used to save your shots to your Photos library, when you tap Save or if "Save to Photos automatically" is on. Kilobyte can't read your library; when you import a photo, you choose it in the system photo picker and only that photo is shared with the app.
Saved and shared files carry the date they were taken and the name of the camera in their metadata. Kilobyte never adds your location.
Purchases
Kilobyte Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple handles payment; Kilobyte only learns whether Pro is unlocked on your Apple Account, and never sees your payment details.
Ratings
Kilobyte may occasionally show Apple's standard "rate this app" prompt. Ratings and reviews go to Apple, not to us.
Children
Kilobyte doesn't collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
