How to play Nonogram
Paint by numbers. Solve the clues and a picture appears.
The rules
- The numbers beside a row list its runs of filled squares, in order.
- The numbers above a column do the same, top to bottom.
- Runs are separated by at least one empty square.
A quick example
A run of 3, a gap and a run of 1 need exactly 5 squares, so this row is fully decided.
Tips
- Add up a line's runs plus one gap between each. If that equals the line length, the whole line is decided.
- For a big run, the squares it must cover wherever it sits can be filled straight away.
- Use Cross mode to mark squares you know are empty. It makes the next deduction easier.
- Drag across the grid to fill or cross several squares at once.
