How to play Tectonic
Fill each outlined region with the numbers 1 up to its size, with no number touching itself.
The rules
- A region of four squares holds 1, 2, 3 and 4, each exactly once.
- The same number can never sit next to itself, not even corner to corner, even across a border.
- The squares that start filled are fixed. Every puzzle has exactly one answer.
A quick example
A region of three has 1 and 2, so the last square must be 3.
Tips
- A region of one square is always a 1. Mark its neighbours as not 1.
- Each region needs a 1, so look for the square where a 1 can go.
- Count what each square cannot be: its region mates and all eight neighbours.
Most puzzles take 5 to 15 minutes.
